  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • Extra chopped pecans
  • Sea salt flakes
  • Drizzled caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper, letting it hang over the edges.
  3. Combine flour and brown sugar in a medium mixing bowl for the crust.
  4. Use a pastry blender or two knives to cut in the cold, cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  6. Sprinkle the pecan halves over the crust.
  7. Combine butter and brown sugar in a small saucepan for the caramel layer, and heat over medium, stirring constantly, until bubbling.
  8. Cook for one minute after it starts boiling, then pour the caramel mixture over the pecans and crust.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips over the bars, and let them soften before spreading evenly with a spatula.

Notes
