A comforting slow-cooked Swiss Steak dish, perfect for family dinners, blending tender beef with vibrant vegetables and a rich sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs beef steak (round or chuck)
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional for browning steak)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the beef steak on both sides for enhanced flavor.
  2. Transfer the browned steak to the Crockpot.
  3. Scatter the sliced onion, bell pepper, carrots, and minced garlic over the beef.
  4. Pour the diced tomatoes and beef broth over the top.
  5. Add Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the beef is tender.
  7. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.

Notes

For best flavor, brown the beef well and layer your ingredients thoughtfully. Use low-sodium broth for better control over saltiness.
