  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pierce the sweet potatoes with a fork and bake for about 45 minutes until tender.
  3. Let the sweet potatoes cool, then peel and mash them in a bowl.
  4. Add the egg, salt, and nutmeg to the mashed sweet potatoes and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  6. Divide the dough into sections and roll each section into a long rope, then cut into small pieces.
  7. Press each piece with a fork to create ridges.
  8. Boil a pot of salted water and cook the gnocchi until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes.
  9. Remove with a slotted spoon and serve with your favorite sauce.
