  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a 9-inch round cake pan over low heat and stir in brown sugar until dissolved.
  3. Arrange sliced strawberries on top of the brown sugar mixture.
  4. Combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  5. Whisk together milk, eggs, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  6. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Pour the cake batter over the strawberries in the pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
