A simple, hearty, and richly layered lasagna that combines convenience and comfort, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 9-12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, over medium heat, cook the ground beef or sausage until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, egg, and seasoning with salt and pepper.
  6. Spread a layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a sheet pan.
  7. Layer the noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the ricotta mixture over them.
  8. Add more meat sauce, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  9. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  10. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
  12. Slice and serve.

Notes

For people with diabetes, consider using sugar substitutes like stevia or monk fruit.
