Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Form into patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add mushrooms to the same skillet and cook until soft.
  4. Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer. If desired, stir in cornstarch to thicken.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Serve warm with the mushroom gravy.

Notes

Use lean ground beef to keep the dish healthier. Don’t rush the mushrooms for maximum flavor.
