A delightful Italian appetizer featuring toasted bread topped with vibrant basil pesto, fresh tomatoes, and creamy mozzarella.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium Tomatoes
  • 1 loaf Bread (for toasting)
  • 8 oz Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Pesto
  • 2 tbsp Balsamic glaze
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil (optional)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the bread into pieces and arrange them on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Toast the bread in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  4. While the bread is toasting, slice the tomatoes and mozzarella.
  5. Once the bread is toasted, spread a layer of pesto on each piece.
  6. Top with slices of tomatoes and mozzarella.
  7. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, use the freshest basil and ripest tomatoes. Serve immediately for optimal texture.
