  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a muffin pan or line it with paper liners.
  3. Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Add the peanut butter, honey, egg, and vanilla extract to the bowl.
  5. Whisk the mixture until well combined and creamy.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared muffin pan, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  9. If desired, sprinkle chocolate chips or nuts on top for added texture.
  10. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  11. Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
