A luxurious yet approachable dish featuring perfectly seared scallops with a crispy exterior and tender center, enhanced by garlic and lemon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sea scallops
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the scallops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the scallops to the hot oil and sear for 2-3 minutes without moving them, until they develop a golden crust.
  4. Flip the scallops carefully and add butter and garlic to the pan.
  5. Cook for an additional 2 minutes while basting the scallops with the melted butter.
  6. Squeeze lemon juice over the scallops and remove from heat.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure scallops are dry before cooking to prevent steaming. Do not overcrowd the pan for optimal searing.
