A healthy and flavorful alternative to traditional fries made from jicama, baked to crispy perfection with a blend of spices.

Ingredients

  • 1 large jicama
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel the jicama and cut it into fries.
  3. Boil the jicama fries in water for about 10-15 minutes until slightly tender.
  4. Drain and let them cool.
  5. Mix in a bowl: the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Toss the cooled jicama fries in the seasoning mix until evenly coated.
  7. Spread the fries out on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra crispiness, soak the cut jicama fries in water for an hour before boiling. Adjust seasonings to your taste.
