Creamy and comforting mashed potatoes that are perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 5 pounds of potatoes
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks.
  3. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  5. Add heavy cream, butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using) to the potatoes.
  6. Mash until smooth and creamy.
  7. Transfer the mashed potatoes to a baking dish, and optionally sprinkle with chives.
  8. Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes until heated through and slightly golden on top.
  9. Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

For a twist, consider adding cheese, bacon, or herbs. These mashed potatoes can be made ahead and reheated.
