Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups mixed add-ins (chocolate chips, nuts, dried fruits, candies)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl; gradually add to the butter mixture.
  7. Fold in your mixed add-ins until well distributed.
  8. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For a chewier cookie, slightly underbake them; they’ll continue to set as they cool.
