A nostalgic and creamy dessert layered with vanilla wafers and ripe bananas, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box vanilla wafers
  • 3 ripe bananas

Instructions

  1. Combine milk, sugar, flour, and salt in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
  2. Whisk egg yolks in a separate bowl. Gradually add some of the hot mixture to the yolks, then return to the saucepan. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla.
  4. Layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and the pudding mixture in a serving dish. Repeat layers and end with pudding.
  5. Chill in refrigerator for at least 120 minutes before serving.
