Delightful festive cookies inspired by the Grinch, perfect for holiday gatherings with their soft and chewy texture.

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 oz green food coloring
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (or M&M’s for extra color)
  • 1 cup festive sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl until well combined.
  3. Beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl until creamy and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla and almond extracts to the mixture.
  6. Mix in the green food coloring until evenly distributed.
  7. Gradually add the flour mixture, stirring until just combined.
  8. Fold in the chocolate chips or M&M’s gently.
  9. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them evenly apart.
  10. Sprinkle the festive sprinkles atop each cookie mound.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until edges start to turn golden.
  12. Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Use quality chocolate for best results.
