A vibrant dish of green beans enhanced with toasted almonds and sautéed garlic, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil or butter.
  2. Add the sliced almonds and toast them until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the almonds from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add the green beans and a splash of water, then cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the beans are tender-crisp.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Stir in the toasted almonds and squeeze some lemon juice over the dish, if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

For the best flavor, always toast almonds separately and do not rush the garlic.
