- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the butter and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
- Let cool before decorating as desired.
