  • 1/2 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, gluten-free breadcrumbs, onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into patties.
  3. In a skillet, brown the patties on both sides over medium heat. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add beef broth, mushrooms, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and transfer to the oven. Bake for 30 minutes.
  6. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir into the gravy and cook until thickened.
  7. Serve the hamburger steaks with the gravy over rice or mashed potatoes.
