Delightful twist on classic cinnamon rolls infused with ginger and cinnamon, drizzled with creamy frosting.

  • 5 cups bread flour or all-purpose flour
  • 2 packets Fleischmann’s RapidRise instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 6 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine 5 cups of flour, 2 packets of instant yeast, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 1/4 teaspoons of ground ginger in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Warm 1 cup of milk until it’s between 100°F and 110°F.
  3. Add the warm milk, 2 large eggs, 6 tablespoons of softened butter, 1/4 cup of molasses, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough for about 5–7 minutes on a well-floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  7. Combine 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of ground ginger in a small bowl.
  8. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle.
  9. Spread 1 stick of softened butter over the dough.
  10. Sprinkle the brown sugar and spice mixture evenly on top of the butter.
  11. Roll the dough tightly from the long end to form a log.
  12. Slice the log into equal pieces and place them in a greased pan.
  13. Beat together 6 ounces of softened cream cheese and 4 tablespoons of softened butter in a mixing bowl.
  14. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of molasses, 2 teaspoons of ground ginger, 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2 cups of powdered sugar.
  15. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  16. Spread over the rolls after they have cooled slightly.

Notes

Use sugar substitutes like stevia or monk fruit for a diabetic-friendly option. Avoid honey or maple syrup.
