A delightful and hearty plant-based burger celebrating flavorful ingredients, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (or flaxseed meal for vegan option)
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Mash the black beans with a fork in a large bowl until mostly smooth.
  2. Stir in breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the egg (or flaxseed meal mixed with water) and mix until well combined.
  4. Form the mixture into patties.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  6. Serve on a bun with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Chill the mixture for 30 minutes before cooking for better patty shape. Can double the batch to freeze for future meals.
