  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 & 1/4 cups buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and place your 9-inch cast iron skillet inside while it heats.
  2. Combine flour, cornmeal, salt, baking soda, and baking powder in a small bowl.
  3. Melt the remaining butter in a large bowl and mix in the oil, sugar, and honey until well combined.
  4. Add eggs and buttermilk to the mixture and whisk until incorporated.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Grease the hot skillet with reserved butter, pour in the batter, and smooth out the top.
  7. Bake for 28-32 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
