A delightful dessert combining fluffy layers of cake and rich cookie dough buttercream, finished with a luscious chocolate ganache.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cookie dough (edible or baked)
  • 1 cup butter for frosting
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk for frosting
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the milk and vanilla, mixing well.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the cookie dough (if edible cookie dough is used, otherwise layer baked dough).
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Beat the butter until creamy for the buttercream, then gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until smooth. Add milk to reach the desired consistency.
  9. Once the cakes are completely cool, layer them with cookie dough buttercream between each layer.
  10. Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining buttercream.
  11. Pour the chocolate ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.
  12. Let it set before serving.
