  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan.
  3. Whisk together the corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  6. Stir in the pecans and a pinch of salt until combined.
  7. Pour the filling into the prepared crust, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until set in the center.
  9. Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

The pie may puff up while baking but will settle as it cools. Serve with whipped cream for an extra treat.
