A rich and flaky Chocolate Croissant recipe that transports you to the charming streets of Paris with every bite.

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 1 tbsp Active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp Fine salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 12 bars Dark or semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp Water

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and cold milk in a large bowl until the dough comes together.
  2. Knead lightly until smooth.
  3. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate overnight.
  4. Shape cold butter into a flat rectangle between parchment paper and chill until firm.
  5. Roll out dough into a large rectangle and place the butter block in the center. Fold like a letter.
  6. Roll gently to flatten and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  7. Repeat the rolling and folding one more time.
  8. Chill overnight.
  9. Preheat the oven, shape the croissants, and bake until golden.
