A delightful twist on classic treats, combining chewy cookie bars with rich, gooey salted caramel.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce
  • Pop Tart pieces (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  6. Spread the salted caramel sauce over the dough layer.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough over the caramel layer. If using, sprinkle with Pop Tart pieces.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before slicing into bars. Enjoy your delicious cookie bars!
