A creamy and sweet adaptation of traditional Italian cannoli, served as a dip perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole-milk ricotta (well drained)
  • ½ cup mascarpone (or 4 oz cream cheese if needed)
  • ½¾ cup powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest (optional but recommended)
  • Pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
  • Broken cannoli shells
  • Pizzelle
  • Waffle cones or waffle cookies
  • Biscotti
  • Strawberries or sliced fruit

Instructions

  1. Drain the ricotta.
  2. Whip the cheeses.
  3. Add sweetness and flavor.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Taste and adjust.
  6. Chill and serve.
