Delightfully fluffy Strawberry Rolls filled with sweet strawberries, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Mix chopped strawberries with cornstarch in another bowl.
  8. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the strawberry mixture on top, then roll it up tightly.
  9. Cut into individual rolls and place them in a greased baking pan.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm.
