Strawberry Pretzel Salad

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 package (6 oz) strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
  4. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.
  6. In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in cold water and let it cool slightly.
  7. Add the sliced strawberries to the gelatin mixture.
  8. Pour the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer and refrigerate until set, about 4 hours.
  9. Cut into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

  • For a variation, you can use other fruits like blueberries or raspberries.
  • Make sure the pretzel crust is completely cooled before adding the cream cheese layer.
