  • 1 medium Onion (sliced)
  • 4 cups Beef Broth (low-sodium)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce (gluten-free if necessary)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Cold Water
  • 6 slices Bread (white or Texas toast)
  • 4 cups Mashed Potatoes (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Place the beef roast in the slow cooker.
  2. Add sliced onion on top of the roast.
  3. Pour in the beef broth.
  4. Drizzle Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce over the mixture.
  5. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, black pepper, and salt on top.
  6. Cover the slow cooker with the lid.
  7. Set to cook on low for 480 minutes or high for 240 minutes, until the beef is tender.
  8. Remove the beef once cooked and shred it using two forks.
  9. Mix cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry.
  10. Stir the slurry into the cooking liquid in the slow cooker.
  11. Cover and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes to thicken the gravy.
  12. Lay the sliced bread on plates.
  13. Spoon the shredded beef and gravy over the bread.
  14. Serve with mashed potatoes on the side.
