A quick and easy red velvet mug cake that can be made in just five minutes for a perfect individual treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons buttermilk

  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine all-purpose flour and granulated sugar in a microwave-safe mug.
  2. Add cocoa powder and baking powder to the mug and stir well.
  3. Pour in vanilla extract, buttermilk, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
  4. Add red food coloring and stir until the mixture is a deep red color.
  5. Microwave on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
  6. Check if it’s fully cooked; if not, continue microwaving in 10-15 second bursts until done.
  7. Let it cool for a minute before enjoying.
