- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat; drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, half of the meat mixture, and a third of the mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers, ending with noodles and remaining marinara sauce on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with vegetables.
- Can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
- Freezes well for up to 3 months.
