Homemade Paleo Twix Bars

A delicious, guilt-free dessert recipe that satisfies your sweet tooth while adhering to paleo dietary guidelines.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dates, pitted
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate, dairy-free

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix almond flour, melted coconut oil, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture into a lined baking dish to form the base layer.
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown, then let it cool.
  5. In a food processor, blend the pitted dates and almond butter until smooth to create the caramel layer.
  6. Spread the caramel layer over the cooled base layer evenly.
  7. Melt the dark chocolate and pour it over the caramel layer, spreading it evenly.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Feel free to substitute almond flour with coconut flour for a different flavor.
  • For a nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter instead of almond butter.
