A simple recipe for delicious breakfast treats that are gluten-free.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk, honey, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Add the melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture, then combine with the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  4. Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into rounds. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  8. Let cool before slicing and toasting.

Notes
