Homemade Garlic Knots

Delicious gluten-free garlic knots that are soft, buttery, and infused with garlic and parsley — perfect for everyone to enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a mixing bowl.
  2. Let sit for 5–7 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the mixture.
  4. Mix and knead for 6–8 minutes until the dough is smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough gently.
  7. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Roll each piece into ropes.
  9. Tie the ropes into knots.
  10. Place the knots on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  11. Cover and let rise for another 20–25 minutes.
  12. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  13. Bake knots for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  14. Melt butter in a pan over low heat.
  15. Add minced garlic to the melted butter, sauté briefly until fragrant.
  16. Stir in fresh parsley.
  17. Brush the warm knots with garlic butter.
  18. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.
  19. Serve warm.

Notes

These knots are best enjoyed fresh, but reheating them in a warm oven brings their texture back to life.
