High Protein Banana Bread Breakfast Bread

A healthy and delicious banana bread recipe packed with protein, perfect for breakfast.

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup protein powder
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Add the honey (or maple syrup), applesauce, and eggs to the mashed bananas and mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, protein powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the walnuts if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • This bread can be frozen for up to 3 months.
