  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, brown sugar, applesauce, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed. Fold in the chopped nuts if using.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
