Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 4 slices cheese (e.g., cheddar or American)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, about 20 minutes.
  2. Cook bacon in a separate pan until crispy, then drain on paper towels.
  3. Form ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Grill the patties over medium-high heat until cooked to desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium.
  5. Place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of grilling to melt.
  6. Mix balsamic vinegar with mayonnaise in a small bowl to create the balsamic mayo.
  7. Spread balsamic mayo on the bottom half of the hamburger buns.
  8. Layer with lettuce, the grilled burger patty with melted cheese, crispy bacon, and caramelized onions.
  9. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
