A delicious and easy-to-make gluten-free strawberry Danish pastry that is perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add cold water until the dough comes together.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into squares.
  6. In another bowl, mix the sliced strawberries with cornstarch and lemon juice.
  7. Place a spoonful of the strawberry mixture in the center of each square.
  8. Fold the corners of the dough over the filling to create a Danish shape.
  9. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
