Delicious and chewy gluten-free soft pretzels that are to make at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Coarse sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix gluten-free flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth.
  5. Divide the dough into equal pieces and roll each piece into a rope shape.
  6. Shape the ropes into pretzels and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  8. In a pot, bring water to a boil and add baking soda.
  9. Boil each pretzel for about 30 seconds, then remove and place back on the baking sheet.
  10. Brush each pretzel with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Ensure all ingredients are gluten-free.
  • For a different flavor, try adding garlic powder or cheese to the dough.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
