- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (made with gluten-free ingredients)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Add ground beef or lamb, cook until browned.
- Stir in diced carrots, peas, tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
- Top with mashed potatoes, spreading them out to cover the meat mixture completely.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with lentils or mushrooms.
- Ensure all ingredients are certified gluten-free.
- Can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
