A hearty and comforting dish made with ground meat and vegetables, topped with creamy mashed potatoes, all gluten-free.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (gluten-free)
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes (made with butter and milk)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground meat over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  4. Stir in the carrots, peas, tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Simmer for about 10 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  6. Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with lentils or mushrooms.
  • Ensure all ingredients are certified gluten-free.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
