A delicious gluten-free dessert topped with a creamy maple frosting.

  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup butter (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
  10. For the frosting, beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and maple syrup until smooth.
  11. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake and serve.
