  • 1 lb white fish fillets (such as cod or haddock)
  • 1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sparkling water
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large potatoes, cut into fries
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the gluten-free flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Gradually add the sparkling water to the flour mixture until you achieve a smooth batter.
  4. Dip the fish fillets into the batter, ensuring they are well coated.
  5. Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Remove the fish and drain on paper towels.
  7. In the same oil, fry the potato fries until crispy and golden, about 5-7 minutes.
  8. Serve the fish and chips hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
