A delicious and creamy casserole made with ground beef and potatoes, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cups cream of mushroom soup (gluten-free)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is cooked through.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased casserole dish.
  5. Spread half of the beef mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and soup mixture.
  8. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños to the beef mixture.
  • Make sure to use gluten-free cream of mushroom soup.
  • This casserole can be prepared ahead of time and baked when ready to serve.
