A delicious and traditional Irish dish made with mashed potatoes and cabbage, perfect for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 cups of chopped green cabbage
  • 1 cup of milk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 4 tablespoons of butter (or dairy-free alternative)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. In a separate pot, steam the cabbage until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  4. Add the butter and milk to the potatoes, mashing until smooth.
  5. Stir in the steamed cabbage and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
