  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour in the milk and honey (if using) and stir until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with coconut oil and milk with a dairy-free alternative.
  • These biscuits can be served warm with butter or jam.
