Delicious and healthy baked apple pie rolls made with rice paper, perfect for a gluten-free dessert.

  • 8 rice paper sheets
  • 2 large apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch until well combined.
  3. Soak each rice paper sheet in warm water for about 10-15 seconds until pliable.
  4. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each rice paper sheet.
  5. Fold the sides over the filling and roll tightly to form a roll.
  6. Brush the rolls with melted butter and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • Make sure to not over-soak the rice paper to prevent tearing.
  • Feel free to add nuts or raisins to the apple filling for extra flavor.
  • Serve warm for the best taste.
