Delicious and crispy mini blooming onions made in an air fryer, perfect for snacks or party appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 4 mini onions
  • 1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel the mini onions and cut the tops off, then make a cross pattern on the bottom of each onion.
  3. In a bowl, mix the gluten-free flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each onion in the buttermilk, then coat with the flour mixture.
  5. Next, dip the onions back in the buttermilk and coat with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  6. Place the onions in the air fryer basket and spray lightly with cooking oil.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
