  1. In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes and chopped onion.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the hot oil, flattening them slightly.
  5. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
