Delicious and festive cookies decorated for St. Patrick’s Day.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • Green food coloring
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Stir in green food coloring until the desired color is achieved.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. In a bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk to make the frosting.
  11. Frost the cooled cookies and decorate with sprinkles.

Notes

  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • Feel free to use different colors of food coloring for various occasions.
