  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup Florida orange juice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm Florida orange juice, milk, and melted butter.
  2. Add the yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and orange zest.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the yeast mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread melted butter over it.
  8. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar mixture over the buttered dough.
  9. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  10. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Mix powdered sugar and orange juice to make icing and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
